Aer Lingus launches new Paris flights

Irish airline Aer Lingus has announced that it is to begin operating a new service to Paris next month.

The carrier will offer passage to Charles de Gaulle Airport from Belfast International at the end of March.

According to the company, the move is being made in response to demand from customers from both France and Northern Ireland.

Commenting on the new flights, Aer Lingus chief executive Dermot Mannion commented: "Our market research has shown strong demand for Paris, Charles de Gaulle while Northern Ireland is increasingly popular with French visitors."

This suggests that both destinations are likely to benefit from increased tourism, while the new air route could potentially encourage Ulster-based property buyers to invest in the French market.

Earlier this month, City Jet began operating a new service between Shannon Airport in Dublin and Paris, further opening up mainland Europe to people on the island of Ireland.
