Airline launches new European flights
Low-cost airline bmibaby has revealed that it will open up new routes between the UK and mainland Europe later this year.
Services from Birmingham, Cardiff, East Midlands and Manchester have been announced as part of its programme for winter 2008.
Some of the flights will connect with what the carrier describes as several "key Mediterranean destinations", including places in Spain, Italy and France.
Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, said this is a positive development for people who want a holiday in the sun.
However, he believes this is also good news for those who own property in Mediterranean hotspots.
Mr Rix commented: "Holiday home owners will benefit from the frequent flights to places such as Malaga and Alicante."
According to figures from Holiday-Rentals, more than nine out of ten British-owned foreign properties are located in European countries.
