Appeal of Brazil explained
Brazil's diversity of attractions and straightforward housing market make the country attractive to both holidaymakers and property investors, it has been claimed.
Tom Falcao, general manager of the Brazilian tourist office in London, said that the South American nation is able to offer visitors almost every type of holiday except skiing.
He claimed that Brazil has developed a "very good infrastructure" to support its tourism sector and is also appealing to British visitors due to the favourable exchange rate.
For investors planning to buy a home in Brazil, Mr Falcao described the process of entering the property market as "very easy" and "no problem at all".
He explained: "Brazil cannot offer skiing, but apart from that we can offer all sorts of things.
"In the northern region there is the Amazon, where people can cross up to Manaos to see the two opera houses built in the middle of the jungle in the 19th century."
Raising the Roof, property blog of the International Herald Tribune, recently identified Brazil as one of the overseas markets to watch during 2009.
