Argentina economy growth eases unemployment
Sustained economic growth in Argentina has prompted a fall in the country's unemployment rate, it has been reported.
According to Reuters, economic growth in the South American country has topped 8.5% in every one of the last five years.
This has stimulated Argentina's jobs market and government figures show the unemployment rate had fallen to 7.8% as of the third quarter of the year - marking the country out as a safe haven for potential property investors.
The latest unemployment rate figures compare favourably with the 8.1% figure recorded this time last year, and are well down on the 21.5% mark reached in the midst of the economic crisis which spanned the years 2001 and 2002.
Employment has been made one of the government's main economic aims in the wake of the credit crunch as it seeks to keep people in work.
The official statistics, which were unveiled last Friday (November 21st), tally with those predicted by the country's president Cristina Fernandez two weeks ago.
Ms Fernandez recently gave her backing to plans to nationalise private pensions, saying it would help combat the economic crisis.
