'Best snowboarding destination' found in France
France is the location of the world's best snowboarding resort, it has been claimed.
According to a list of the top 10 global destinations for snowboarders recently published by the Telegraph, the French resort of Tignes is now firmly established as "the premier snowboarding resort" in the world.
Property owners in France could receive a boost from the resort's growing stature within the international snowboarding community, as more winter sports enthusiasts flock to the pistes at Tignes and nearby Val d'Isere.
The newspaper explains that Tignes offers numerous attractions for discerning snowboarders, including "the longest season in Europe, the closest slopes to the sun [and] some of the best powder".
It concludes: "There's no better functioning resort for snowboarding in the world."
Other resorts to make the Telegraph's snowboarding top ten include Avoriaz in France and Italy's Livigno, described as "one of the best-kept secrets".
A recent article in the Independent praised the ski resorts of Italy for being "sublimely scenic".
