Brazil aims to boost visitor numbers

Authorities in Brazil are to launch a new campaign to boost the number of tourists visiting the country.

The government is investing in a multi-million dollar promotional campaign to attract more US holidaymakers, who are currently the second-largest group of visitors, reports Brand Week.

Up to $6 million is being invested in the initiative, which will include both print and online advertisements, while television marketing is also being considered.

In addition, billboards will be erected in major US airports, including New York, Dallas, Miami and Los Angeles.

The campaign will be centred around the variety of leisure facilities on offer in Brazil, such as its beaches, golf courses and countryside.

If the campaign is successful, overseas property investors in this increasingly popular market could also benefit.

Earlier this month, independent analysts Amberlamb said that the Brazilian government was actively courting foreign property buyers in an attempt to boost investment in the country.
