Brazil 'one to watch' in 2009

The Brazilian property sector has been identified as one of the overseas markets likely to enjoy significant development this year.

According to Raising the Roof, property blog of the International Herald Tribune, Brazil is expected to buck global trends by continuing to attract investors from around the world in 2009.

The website claims that the Latin American property market, along with the Middle East, could be one of the few places to demonstrate positive growth over the next 12 months.

Commenting on Brazil in particular, Raising the Roof states: "Big money from around the world continues to flow into the country."

It also says that for adventurous investors, Brazil is "still the place to buy a large piece of pristine land".

Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva recently said that the government will unveil a new strategy designed to strengthen the economy by January 20th.
