Brazil set to attract more Canadians

Tourist officials in Canada are making moves to respond to Brazil's growing appeal, according to a media report.

Canada.com said Brazil was becoming more and more popular with holidaymakers from the North American nation, prompting companies to extend their range of offers.

Speaking to the news provider, Doug Vogl from Air Canada Vacations commented: "Recent travel trends point to South America as the hottest new tourist destination for Canadians."

The website included Brazil in a list of its recommended holiday destinations for 2008, describing it as a highly desirable location.

In addition, Canada.com stated that the country was a holiday "hotspot" that was "guaranteed to melt away winter".

Brazil was recently recommended to overseas property investors by independent analysts Amberlamb, which said it was currently seeing significant growth in its housing market.

The organisation added that since areas away from the coast had been largely untapped, this could be the subject of strong demand in the next few years.
