Brazilian economy 'good for investors'

Brazil is emerging as an attractive market for property investors because the country's economy is fundamentally sound, it has been claimed.

Felipe Cavalcante of the Brazilian Association for Real Estate and Tourism Development said that investing in the South American nation is less risky than other markets, particularly during the current climate of economic uncertainty.

He explained that the Brazilian economy has so far absorbed the impact of the financial crisis without major damage, thereby encouraging overseas property investment.

"Even with this world crisis, Brazil is a safe country to invest because it has a sound economy," Mr Cavalcante said.

"The crisis did not affect the Brazilian real estate market."

Mr Cavalcante was speaking in anticipation of the Overseas Property Professional (OPP) Live Exhibition, which takes place in London on November 25th and 26th.

Founded by OPP Magazine four years ago, the event features exhibitions from developers, agents, marketers and other members of the foreign property industry.
