British tourists 'becoming more adventurous'

Holidaymakers from the UK are increasingly choosing to venture to more distant locations.

According to Group Leisure magazine, many British consumers are taking advantage of flights to countries which are further afield.

Rob Yandell, editor of the publication, said this is because accessibility improvements have led to people becoming more adventurous with regards to their holidays.

He commented: "The world is a smaller place and the options are vast.

"People are looking for more adventure and quality at a very reasonable price."

He added that a growing number of holidaymakers are opting to visit "new" and "exciting" destinations across the world.

The comments come after a study by Cater Allen Private Bank found that 63 per cent of British tourists would like to go to a long-haul destination.

Research by the organisation also found that more than half would prefer to visit unspoilt areas instead of crowded tourist hotspots.
