Britons 'commuting internationally'
An increasing number of people are choosing to move abroad while still working in the UK, according to a national newspaper.
The Telegraph highlighted the case study of Jo Wheeler and Richard Edwards, a weather presenter and marketing executive respectively, who recently moved to Portugal.
Ms Wheeler described how the family regularly visited the country for holidays, only realising how stressful it could be in the UK as soon as they returned.
Speaking to the newspaper, she said the couple eventually decided to move to Portugal permanently and commute back to England each week.
Ms Wheeler praised many of Portugal's best qualities, including its good climate for the whole year and the attractive scenery, as well as its more relaxed lifestyle.
She added: "We are now international people and our children have far more physical freedom and fun in the environment than at home."
This follows comments from property writer Kevin Moore who spoke of the growing trend of people returning to the site of their favourite holidays to buy a foreign property.
