Britons to head abroad this Christmas
Many British consumers are set to spend this year's festive season overseas, according to tourism experts.
The Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) stated that many people from the UK are likely to head abroad this Christmas.
However, the organisation said that despite the desire to head overseas, holidaymakers still want to enjoy places that have a British ambience.
AITO highlighted the United Arab Emirates as one of the main hotspots for festive travellers, in particular Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
"The Middle East is proving popular," it commented.
"There are certain towns that have a British feel".
An influx of holidaymakers is likely to be good news for owners of property in the region, particularly investors who are aiming their homes at the rental market.
This comes after consumers from the UK were encouraged to visit the Middle East to enjoy some winter sunshine.
According to the Times, many Britons are craving some high temperatures after the country experienced another "dismal" summer.
