Britons 'unwilling to give up holidays'
Financially stretched Britons are not prepared to give up their holidays abroad, a newspaper has stated.
According to the Mirror, many people in the UK are having to cut back on their spending in response to rising living costs.
However, the publication said the credit crunch, as well as the weak pound, will not put people off paying for a trip to the sun.
This has prompted the Mirror to suggest that consumers make their holidays more affordable by visiting the places which offer the best value for money.
"Look outside of Euroland," the newspaper recommended.
"The basic holiday cost may be more expensive, but with cheaper prices in resorts you're still quids in."
This comes after a study by Moneysupermarket.com found that many Britons are planning to venture further afield for their holidays.
According to the website, this is because the weakness of the pound against the euro has made some traditional European hotspots more expensive than many long-haul destinations.
