Bucharest apartment values 'continue to rise'
Property prices for apartments in Bucharest continue to increase, according to new research from a finance news provider.
Ziarul Financiar (ZF) claims that the value of an average three-bedroom flat grew by €55 (£37) per m2 during March - an increase of 4%.
The company states that if this trend continues through to December, property values for will have grown between 70 and 80% compared to last year.
Some areas of Bucharest - like Oltenitei, Iancului and Brancoveanu - witnessed price surges in excess of 10%, ZF states.
Daniel Chiperi, a real estate adviser with the Marussi agency, is quoted by ZF as saying: "Sellers are therefore asking €5,000 - 6,000 more for properties. I think prices will continue to increase in this area in the future."
Mr Chiperi also highlights areas like Berceni that have had enjoyed large-scale investment projects, including the construction of Romania's biggest mall.
In other news concerning Romania, the government has announced a restructuring of its coalition. The minority National Liberal Party revealed that its former coalition partner, the Democratic Party, will no longer be represented in the government.
