Budget airline opens up Moroccan market

Morocco's property market could be a set for a boost from the introduction of new flights from Europe.

Budget airline easyJet has launched a new service between Madrid and Tangiers, a development which further opens up the north of the country.

This could be likely to attract considerable interest in the region from Spanish holidaymakers, which means that demand for rental accommodation in Morocco will also grow.

The service will run six times a week until the summer, after which point it will be operated daily.

Meanwhile, easyJet has revealed that its takeover of GB Airways has been completed successfully.

This means that it will take over the carrier's previous services, including flights from London's Gatwick Airport to Marrakesh.

The airline already runs a number of other services to Morocco, including flights to Marrakesh from cities such as Madrid and Paris.

Furthermore, routes from the Spanish capital to Casablanca are also in operation.
