Celebrity buys Italian property
A famous face in the overseas property buying fraternity has spoken of how she picked her own holiday home.
Amanda Lamb, presenter of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, said that she was tempted to buy a holiday home in Italy during the making of one particular edition.
However, she told the Manchester Evening News that it would be "bad form to gazump" a guest on the programme and instead opted to look for a similar property.
She now owns a home in the Puglia region of Italy, one of the country's emerging property hotspots.
Ms Lamb commented: "Prices here are rocketing so hopefully it will also be a good investment as well as a great place to come and stay with friends."
She added that she is planning to spend Christmas and the new year at her new house and visit every few months.
According to recent research by A Place in the Sun, Italy is one of the five most popular locations among British investors.
