Confidence in overseas property growing, says expert
A growing number of people may be looking to invest in places such as Turkey, as an expert has observed a rise in interest.
Robin Wilson, head of overseas at Rightmove.co.uk, explained that greater availability of funding and price recoveries are among the factors currently encouraging investment.
"People are returning to the market with a degree of confidence," he said, adding that bank lending is giving people "more comfort that it is OK to take it to the next step and actually buy something".
Mr Wilson was commenting on figures from mortgage broker Conti released this week, which indicated that more Britons may be interested in property in Turkey and elsewhere.
According to the statistics, the number of people requesting quotes for the purpose of buying homes abroad rose by 20% last month, while the value of loans submitted to lenders overseas reached its highest point in a year.
