Creative industries 'can boost economy'
The importance of creative industries to Bulgaria was discussed in Sofia last week, news that may be of interest to potential property investors.
President of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov discussed the economic potential of such channels with The World Intellectual Property Organisation (Wipo).
The sections focussed on specifically included the ability of the creative sector to generate new jobs alongside the creation of wealth and new trade opportunities.
Dr Kamil Idris, director general, was the representative present from Wipo and he also met with a number of other officials to discuss the current links between the body and the country.
He welcomed expansions between the two, including activities such as capacity building programmes.
In addition, the director general said that the cultural heritage of Bulgaria must be preserved and the body will support in the promotion of this.
Recently, the Economist Intelligence Unit released figures that suggested the economic situation in Bulgaria is healthy.
