Credit crunch 'not denting interest in foreign property'
Ongoing economic problems across the world are not putting Britons off buying a foreign property, it has been revealed.
According to Brooklands Group, organisers of A Place in the Sun Live, interest in buying abroad is still strong, despite the impact of the credit crunch.
The organisation made the claim after revealing that more than 13,000 people visited the three-day exhibition in London last month.
Brooklands said this is clear evidence that people in the UK are still keen to purchase a residence in another country, even if the credit crunch is impacting on their financial wellbeing.
Darren Styles, chief executive of the organisation, commented: "It's a tribute to the strength of our brand and the resilience of our industry."
He added that the level of negativity surrounding current market conditions has been widely exaggerated.
This comes after the Association of International Property Professionals revealed that second home buyers in the UK spent £24 billion on property abroad last year.
