Croatia a 'magnet' for second home buyers

The pull of Croatia for overseas investors is continuing to strengthen, it has been claimed.

Post Office said that the demand for currency for eastern European destinations is rising as they become hotspots for tourists and property investors - with Croatia now pulling business away from traditional locations.

Figures from Post Office reveal a 33 per cent rise in sales of the Croatian kuna.

Additionally, Bulgaria is another location that is seeing increased demand for currency, according to the financial institution.

Kevin McAdam, Post Office's head of travel services, commented: "With its leisure holiday market now propelling the country into the European big league, Croatia is becoming a magnet for people looking for second homes and we are seeing kuna sales boom as a result."

Currently, the currency trades at just under 11 kuna for every £1.
