Croatia 'popular with foreign tourists'
Croatia is rapidly becoming a highly popular holiday destination, according to a media report.
The ContraCosta Times stated that the eastern European country was attracting a large number of leisure travellers from all over the continent.
However, it added that its appeal was also extending to the US, as American tourists were finding that Croatia allowed the devalued dollar to go further.
The publication highlighted a number of its attractions, such as the good food and drink, natural beauty and charming towns.
Commenting on the country, it said: "Croatia remains refreshingly authentic in spite of its growing popularity as a tourist destination."
The ContraCosta Times added that the common description of the country as the "Jewel of the Adriatic" was actually "quite modest".
Croatia's broad appeal is likely to be good news for investors in its buy-to-let sector, as it means that demand for rental property will remain high.
The country's government is current aiming to further cement its international status by bidding for European Union membership.
