Cypriot tourist officials launch promotional drive
Officials in Cyprus are launching a drive to promote its attractions in a bid to bring more tourists to the island.
In a move that could benefit owners of rental properties in Cyprus, local culture, food and natural attractions are all to be heavily promoted.
The Cyprus Tourism Organisation is collaborating with the European Regional Development Fund on the initiative, reports the Financial Mirror.
Events such as this Saturday's celebration of rural Cyprus at Paphos harbour have been arranged with the objective of promoting attractions beyond the traditional image of sun, sand and sea.
Both residents and holidaymakers will be able to sample traditional foods, wines, sweets, crafts and architecture.
Earlier this week, Foreign Currencies Direct spokesman Stephen Hughes told This is Money that Cyprus was a highly popular investment spot among people looking for good value properties.
