Cyprus attracts European holidaymakers

Cyprus is continuing to attract visitors from different European countries, new figures have revealed.

Official data cited by the Cyprus Mail showed that the Mediterranean island was visited by more than 50,000 holidaymakers last month.

According to the statistics, it attracted people of various nationalities during this period, including Britons, Germans and Greeks.

Almost half of the 50,658 leisure travellers in Cyprus were found to have come from the UK.

Meanwhile, figures showed that the country was becoming an increasingly popular destination among Russian consumers.

This could be good news for owners of rental accommodation in major Cypriot holiday resorts, as it suggests that tourist accommodation is still in strong demand.

Cyprus was recently recommended to foreign property buyers by UK-based newspaper the Mirror, which said house prices on the Mediterranean island have gone up by about 80% in the last five years.
