Durham Tees Valley Airport to launch 'winter sun' flights to Spanish cities
Prospective property investors in the north east have been handed a boost with the announcement that airline flyglobespan will fly to Spanish destinations throughout the course of the winter season from Durham Tees Valley Airport.
The "winter sun" routes Malaga, Alicante, Tenerife and Palma services will significantly expand the company's seasonal flight range, as last year flyglobespan only offered a once-weekly service to Tenerife.
This winter, passengers will now be able to fly to Malaga from £29.99, inclusive of taxes.
Chairman Tom Dalrymple from flyglobespan revealed that he believes the travellers will "appreciate" the extra services.
"No other airline has ever done this to the same extent before and as well as bringing jobs to the area, we are offering a unique opportunity from travellers in the area to have direct access to some of Europe's top resorts," he remarked.
Experts cite the availability of cheap flights, as well as the extensive network of destinations, as one reason why Spanish property investment has proven to be so popular among investors.
