Dutch tourists flocking to Turkey
Turkey is seeing an influx of tourists from Holland, raising the profile of the country as a prominent holiday destination and underlining the investment potential for property buyers.
According to the general director of low-cost airline Corendon Air, Turkey has emerged as Holland's most popular holiday destination, attracting hordes of Dutch holidaymakers throughout the year.
The airline states that Turkey currently has a 25% share of the Dutch tourism market, indicative of a healthy level of interest from Dutch travellers. This comes after a relatively bad year for tourism in Turkey during 2006.
"Turkey is the leader in the Dutch tourism market, with a 25% share, a figure we intend to maintain and hopefully increase," Yildiray Karaer of Corendon Air told Zaman.
For property investors this could spell lucrative opportunities for holiday homes in Turkey, as demand continues to grow. Foreign investors could do well to capitalise on these trends and buy an overseas property in Turkey that they can subsequently rent out.
