Eastern Europe 'has bargain ski slopes'
Winter sports fans have been advised to travel to eastern Europe for this year's skiing season.
According to the Post Office, countries such as Romania and Bulgaria are much cheaper than alternative destinations such as the US, Austria and Switzerland.
Visitors were said to be able to benefit from bargain ski equipment and living costs in the most popular resorts, partly because of favourable exchange rate conditions.
However, the Post Office advised to people to consider other issues besides the price, such as their level of expertise and whether it matched their expectations.
Commenting on Bulgaria and Romania, spokesperson Helen Warburton stated that they offered a variety of good resorts that suited both novices and experienced skiers.
She said: "For those people and for bargain hunters, Bulgaria and Romania represent excellent value."
This comes after the Association of British Travel Agents reported that France had overtaken Austria as the most popular skiing destination in Europe.
