Embrace foreign culture, says expat
Britons who relocate to another country have been urged to embrace the way of life in their new home.
Steven Quinn, an expatriate who lives in Canada, said it is important for foreign nationals to make the effort to fit in with a new culture.
Speaking to the Sun, he warned that those who choose not to do so are unlikely to ever feel at ease living abroad.
He told the newspaper: "If you try and keep your UK lifestyle you will not integrate so you never settle."
Mr Quinn added that people do have to make adjustments such as getting used to new surroundings.
However, he said that if people do embrace the lifestyle of another country, living abroad will meet their initial expectations.
The comments come after a poll by NatWest revealed that 81% of British expatriates feel happier now that they live outside the UK.
