Europeans 'want to live in Turkey'

Many Europeans would like to live in Turkey on a permanent basis, an expert has claimed.

Huseyin Baraner, chairman of Europe-Turkey Tourism Business Council, said a recent poll has showed how highly the country is regarded overseas.

Speaking to the Turkish Press, he revealed that the body surveyed nearly 4,000 foreign visitors on whether they would live in Turkey if they could.

Acccording to Mr Baraner, the majority of respondents said yes, with many citing a preference for the Mediterranean coastline.

Alanya, Kemer and Marmaris were particularly popular, he continued, especially with those aged between 55 and 65.

He added that many visitors from Europe find Turkey more attractive than their own countries.

This comes after the Daily Mail revealed that overseas property buyers are increasingly showing interest in the Turkish market.

Earlier this week, the newspaper said its hot climate and exotic culture are two of its main attributes, along with its unspoilt scenery.
