Executive employment in Spanish-owned companies is 'very stable'
Spanish companies are more successful than their European peers at retaining executive-level staff, according to the findings of a new survey from a human resources consultancy.
Jakobsland Partners revealed that although employee turnover in Spanish companies is on the increase, executive turnover has remained low in comparison to firms from other countries, with rates highest in Madrid and Barcelona.
The report, which may be of interest to those looking to work in Spain, also revealed that more companies are becoming aware of the increasing level of staff turnover, with some taking steps to understand why this is happening.
"They try to retain their top officers and high potential employees through a mix of recruitment, development and compensation initiatives," the report states.
Equally, there is a risk for some Spanish companies that staff turnover is too low, potentially causing stagnation and a lack of innovation brought by new staff.
According to employment firm Going Global, Spanish employment activity in Spain has been "positive" over the last decade.
