Expat praises Spanish move

A British expatriate has spoken positively of her decision to leave the UK and move overseas.

Elle Draper moved from Portsmouth to Spain nearly two years ago in order to follow a new career path and run her own business.

Speaking to the Sun, she revealed that she left home partly because of her dissatisfaction with the life in the UK.

She commented: "The stress, humdrum and general state of the UK was just not appealing to us anymore."

Ms Draper added that she is now able to enjoy hot and sunny weather all year round, as well as local leisure facilities such as restaurants.

She went on to praise the affordability of property in Spain, as she now owns a villa with a pool and a large garden which is worth the same amount as a small apartment in Portsmouth.

"We have certainly not been disappointed," she concluded.

According to the Office for National Statistics, Spain is currently one of the most popular destinations for Britons who are moving abroad.
