Expats enjoy health benefits abroad

Moving to another country can be good for a person's health, a British newspaper has stated.

According to the Western Mail, the hot and sunny weather in places such as Spain has helped older people overcome various health problems.

The newspaper said that many over-50s who now live abroad believe they are in better physical shape than they were beforehand.

"[Spain's] warmer climate helps ease the pain associated with age-related ailments like arthritis," it commented.

The Western Mail added that the country has large expat communities in many areas, which means that recent arrivals are not likely to feel alone and isolated.

Foreign Currency Direct recently revealed that a growing number of British nationals are considering packing their bags and moving abroad.

Research by the organisation highlighted a number of reasons for this trend, such as concerns over the rising cost of living and a desire to enjoy better weather.
