Expats 'should not cut ties with Britain'
British people who are buying properties abroad have been advised not to sever their links with the UK.
The National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) said that people should not "burn their bridges" and rush into moving abroad unless they had a good reason.
Anthony Kerrigan, spokesperson for the organisation, commented: "Anyone emigrating to Australia on the basis of one good holiday should seriously consider holding on to a home they own in the UK."
Speaking to the Evening Star, he added that many people had sold their house and later decided to return home after about 12 to 18 months.
However, these people were said to sometimes face difficulties getting back on the property ladder in the UK due house price inflation in recent years.
According to Halifax, property values in the UK rose by 0.4 per cent last month, reaching an average of £199,770.
