Expats urged to get professional advice
Britons who are thinking of relocating overseas have been advised to get financial advice before moving.
Paul Knox of JP Morgan Private Bank said it is important that prospective expats carry out advance research into how a move abroad will affect them financially.
Speaking to the Times, he singled out tax as one of the most important issues that needs to be considered.
Mr Knox stated that finding a location which offers the ideal balance between tax and lifestyle can be "tough".
This, he insisted, means that good research and advice can be "crucial" for future expats.
"Moving abroad is not simply a case of packing a bag and moving to the sunshine," Mr Knox added.
The comments come shortly after research by NatWest revealed that a growing number of British workers are heading overseas to pursue new career opportunities and higher salaries.
