Expert: Costa del Sol is a good place to buy a holiday home
The Costa del Sol remains a good place to buy a holiday because of its enduring reputation as a tourist destination and favourable climate, according to a Spanish property expert.
Mark Stucklin of Spanishpropertyinsight.com explained that the Costa del Sol arguably has "the best leisure offerings in Europe", with an extensive array of golf courses, shopping areas, restaurants and areas in which to go hiking.
For this reason - coupled with the availability of budget flights - the Costa del Sol is "one of the world's great holiday destinations, without a doubt", explained Mr Stucklin.
However, he noted that property investors looking at the area should not necessarily be deterred by its poor reputation following a number of high-profile scandals.
"Yes, it has got a bad reputation right now - which has been somewhat exaggerated by the press - but things like corruption are being dealt with," he remarked.
Recently, Mark Bodega from HiFX said that the recent slowdown in the Spanish property market could provide astute investors with opportunities to acquire cheap property.
