France 'is a good bet for investors'
Overseas property investors in the UK have been advised to consider purchasing a residence in France.
Writing for the Telegraph, Keith Miller said the country could be a good investment because global economic problems have not significantly affected the market's performance.
He cited estimates suggesting that house prices in France could go up by as much as 8% this year.
Furthermore, he said that the country's property values are on average about a third cheaper than in the UK.
This means that investors could potentially snap up a relative bargain and enjoy the proceeds of capital growth.
Mr Miller commented: "Despite all the turbulence of recent months, it seems French property remains a good bet for UK buyers."
This comes after the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors revealed that house prices in France went up by 3% last year.
