'Huge growth' expected in Brazilian economy

A paper released by an expert at JBWere Asset Management suggests that the Brazilian economy is set to show huge growth in the coming years, news which may be welcomed by property investors.

According to the paper by investment strategist Nick Ferres at the Goldman Sachs firm, the gross domestic product in 4 countries is set to outperform that in 6 of the most well-developed economies, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

The Brics countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) will see a larger gross domestic product of counties such as France, Germany and the US by 2040, Mr Ferres contended.

Reasons for the growth include the fact that Brazil has a larger number of natural resources, the official added.

Goldman Sachs also predicts that the economy in Brazil will overtake that in France by 2031 and Italy in 2025.

The paper also reports that Brazil has the ninth-largest economy in the world.

In terms of population, Brazil is the fifth-largest country on the planet, with 188 million inhabitants and also the fifth-largest in terms of size.
