Idyllic Spanish dwellings 'most popular for investors'
A new report by thninkproperty.com has suggested that potential investors believe a villa near a beach in Spain is the most attractive proposition for them.
The new Overseas Desirability Report claimed that a quarter of those surveyed think that acquisitions in either Spain or the Balearics would be highly prized.
Moreover, more than 40% of homeowners would like to purchase a home abroad at some point in the future, according to the findings.
A number of factors were taken into account by investors, such as the location of properties and how idyllic they are. In total, 45% of those who responded said that they would ideally like a home near beaches and the sea.
Managing director at the firm Mark Goddard said that the report should be insightful to property investors.
"Our new Overseas Desirability Report gives a good indication of what home owners want from a property abroad, giving estate agents a clearer picture of what consumers are looking for," he commented.
Recent comments from the bank HSBC also suggest that Spain is growing in popularity from investors, with half a million British people currently having real estate investments there.
