Indian tourists 'heading to Morocco'
Morocco is proving something of a holiday hotspot for Indian tourists, following reports that a rising number of Indian holidaymakers are deciding to visit the north African country for a getaway break.
Trends are emerging of Indian travellers seeking exotic holidays in culturally rich parts of the world and Morocco has subsequently become a popular holiday choice, according to the Times of India.
Estimates state that nearly 9 million Indians travelled abroad last year and while only 3% of this number opted for more unusual destinations, it is thought that attitudes are shifting.
Arup Sen of Cox & Kings states that a high level of disposable income is helping India tourists to sample these locations.
To meet growing demand for exotic travel and help encourage travellers to try something new, travel companies in India are promoting trips to destinations such as Morocco, offering tailored packages to meet specific needs.
