Infrastructure 'could be improved with funding'
Transport infrastructure is set to be improved in Bulgaria after the news that the operational transport programme is likely to be approved in the autumn.
European Union (EU) approval is anticipated for the development in September of October, transport minister Petar Moutafchev stated, reports the Sofia Echo.
If plans go ahead, 2.3 billion euros (£1.5 million) are set to be ploughed into improving transport links, including trans-European corridors that are set to pass through the country.
It is hoped that the development will aid the economy in the country, news that may interest potential property investors there.
Such transport enhancements will be one of seven areas focussed in on that will receive EU funding, according to Bulgarian National Radio.
A national transport network is also one of the key areas that will further boost the economic wellbeing of Bulgaria, if reports are to be believed.
Recently, the opening of a new flight departure terminal was announced at the city of Bourgas.
