Infrastructure on Bulgarian town 'to get boost'

Sliven in Bulgaria is set to borrow 22 million BGN (£7.5 million) in the bid to enhance its overall infrastructure, news that may be of interest to potential property investors.

The municipality will be lent the money by Dexia Kommunalkredit for a number of project, according to the mayor of the town Yordan Lechkov, reports novinite.com.

Overall, the money will be used to boost several key facilities, such as sewage infrastructure, plus the supply of water, plus roads and street lighting.

It will be implemented in the Druzhba area of the town, the paper stated.

Projects in the area are almost ready to start, the official said.

"We will begin there because we have those projects ready," he commented.

Additionally, work may begin on the Rechitsa and Sini Kamani areas in the future, further improving the infrastructure.

In related news, a new commercial port could be built in Bourgas, Port Bourgas Dockyards has stated.
