Investor praises Italian province
The Italian province of Calabria has been praised by an overseas property investor from the UK.
Stephen Ferguson, from Wishaw in Lanarkshire, bought a property in the region for £67,000 as both an investment and holiday home.
He told the Sunday Mail that Calabria was a good location in which to purchase as he often went on holiday there with his wife and family.
Mr Ferguson added that the south of Italy was a particularly appealing investment option because the area was largely undiscovered and not saturated with holidaymakers.
In addition, it was said to offer much cheaper property values than other European markets, such as Spain and the north of the country.
He commented: "While it's a popular spot it's not overcrowded and property prices are quite reasonable."
Calabria has been widely cited as a good option for overseas investors by many sector analysts and experts, including real estate specialist Marco Rossi.
Speaking to the Daily Record, he said the province's property market was growing fast, although some bargains were still available.
