Investor praises Turkish market

A British property investor has spoken positively of her decision to purchase a residence in Turkey.

Helen Love, who owns two properties in the country, said Turkey is suitable both as a lifestyle destination and investment market.

Speaking to the Independent, she said one of the houses is used as a holiday home by her family, while the other was bought purely to generate wealth.

Ms Love commented: "It's great for holidays, there's a pristine beach and the local people are wonderful."

She added that Turkey is a relatively cheap market with a stable political system and economy.

Furthermore, she said the possibility of the country entering the European Union (EU) has also enhanced its investment credentials.

Turkey's efforts to join the EU have been backed by a number of world leaders, including the Queen.

The monarch recently described Turkey as a "confident" and "dynamic" democracy which is uniquely positioned to act as a bridge between the east and west.
