Investors advised to consider Croatia

Overseas property investors have been advised to consider purchasing a residence in Croatia.

The eastern European country was recommended by independent analysts Amberlamb, which described it as a market in its infancy.

This means that Croatia is an emerging destination, which the organisation believes offers investors the opportunity to get a good return.

Amberlamb commented: "If you’re looking for a bargain with a long-term potential for strong yet sustainable growth, Croatia could very well be it."

The group added that the country was already becoming popular with property buyers with people from places including the UK, Ireland and Germany.

This, it said, was fuelling "fairly strong" house price growth, especially along the southern coastline.

Furthermore, it stated that the Croatian government was currently aiming to make the country eligible to join the European Union.

According to official figures, about 11 million holidaymakers chose to visit Croatia between January and November 2007 - 8% more than during the same period of the previous year.
