Investors flock to north-east Brazil
The north-east of Brazil is becoming more and more popular with foreign property buyers, a British newspaper has stated.
According to the Times, the region has many attractions that could make it an ideal location for both investors and second home owners.
For example, the north-east was said to have a good climate, with temperatures reaching the 30s even in January and February.
In addition, the news provider praised the region for offering low living costs and properties that were up to a third cheaper than comparable houses in places such as Spain.
Prospective buyers were also told that Brazil's growing economy and popularity with foreign buyers was boosting property values across the country.
Felipe Cavalcante de Melo Lima, president of the Association for the Development of Tourism and Real Estate in the Brazilian Northeast, told the Times: "Some locations have seen capital appreciation of more than 1,000% in five years."
Earlier this month, Brazil was tipped to be a highly popular location among overseas property investors in 2008 by currency specialist HiFX.
