Investors interested in European property

Overseas property buyers across Europe are choosing to purchase in both established and emerging markets, new research has found.

A poll of the most popular destinations by Knight Frank showed that countries such as Spain, Italy and France were still very highly-rated by foreign investors, reports Property Week.

However, houses in less established markets such as the Hungarian capital Budapest were also found to be extremely sought-after.

In addition, investors gave a positive verdict to the city of Prague, located in the Czech Republic.

Commenting on the findings, Knight Frank stated that European countries could be a good investment because economic growth was widespread.

In addition, it said the fundamentals of the property market in many places were secure, such as strong demand from potential occupants.

Figures from Holiday-Rentals show that 90 per cent of foreign properties owned by British investors are located within Europe.
