Investors pointed towards inland Spain

Overseas property buyers have been advised to consider purchasing a residence in inland Spain.

According to the Spanish Property Owners Guild (Spog), many coastal parts of the country have become oversaturated.

However, the organisation believes that alternatives can still be found in other areas, in particular those located just away from the coast.

Paul Bradley, spokesperson for Spog, commented: "Real Spain still exists.

"Ten miles inland and it is still how it has always been."

Mr Bradley added that unspoiled areas can still be found in established investment hotspots such as the Costa del Sol.

He stated that some of these places offer natural attractions including rolling hills and "dramatic" mountainous landscapes.

According to the Association of International Property Professionals, Spain is still the most popular foreign market among British property buyers.

The country was said to account for more than a quarter of the overseas property market in 2007.
