Investors should consider more than cost
Overseas property investors have been advised to consider more than the cost of a house when buying abroad.
Amanda Lamb, presenter of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, said it is essential for property buyers to look at what else their chosen market has to offer.
Investors were told to remember that while certain locations may have bargain house prices, they need to know whether it has a reliable and modern infrastructure.
Ms Lamb commented: "Properties might be cheap, but is the electricity supply reliable?"
She added that investors now have an unprecedented choice of emerging markets from which to choose.
However, she said that many are in different stages of development, as places such as Morocco are more advanced than some eastern European countries including Albania.
The latter destination was recently recommended by the Foreign Property Buyer website, which praised its scenery, good weather and political stability.
