Investors 'showing optimism in Turkey'
Analysts have stated that the election results in Turkey have led to increased optimism among investors in the country.
On Sunday, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) was re-elected into power and analysts have said that this is a good thing for the country, reports Today's Zaman.
During Monday, the Istanbul Stock Exchange benchmark index increased by 5.6 %, reaching 55,913 points, the publication stated.
The HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt analyst Thomas Amend said that the new success of the party has had a buoyant effect on the market.
"The electoral success of the AK Party is not only helping Turkish shares but also betters perspectives for Turkish governmental loans," he commented.
Such optimism was matched by officials at the US investment bank JP Morgan.
In related news, a report by Pew Research Centre stated that a growing number of people think the government has a positive effect on the country.
