Investors to be reassured about Spain
A new scheme has been set up by the property industry in order to restore consumer confidence in the Spanish market.
Developers and housebuilders have set up the Safe Buying Experience (SBE) initiative as a one-stop shop for people who are thinking of buying property in the country, reports Homes Worldwide.
As well as providing information and professional services to potential customers, SBE will also award properties with an industry accreditation.
Susan Marson, chief executive of the body, said this should re-establish confidence in the market and make sure everything is legal and above board.
She commented: "The result is a win-win situation for the potential buyer."
This comes after overseas property investors were advised that the credit crunch and market slowdown has not affected the entire Spanish property market.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Liam Bailey from Knight Frank pointed prospective buyers towards areas such as Murcia, where house prices went up by more than 8% last year.
