'Key year' for Bulgarian rental return in 2007

Investors in Bulgarian property have an important time ahead of them, with one property investment claiming 2007 will be a &quotkey time&quot to determine the level of rental yields.

With Bulgaria acceding to the European Union at the beginning of the year, 2007 has seen a lot of international focus falling on the country, and joining the bloc has led to interest in the real estate and tourism industries in particular.

&quotBulgaria has had a huge amount of press and public interest in overseas property,&quot said Paul Collins of BuyAssociation. &quot2007 will be a key time to see whether those who have invested will make money from the rental side of things.&quot

Mr Collins added that the prospects of investment return look positive for 2007. He said: &quotOne British tour operator has cited it as the market where they see the biggest growth this year, and having joined the EU in January, the country has a real opportunity to grow.&quot

Bulgaria is expecting a 10% rise in tourism figures for this year, hoping to welcome 5.6 million visitors.
